With so much versatility with designs, colors, and styles, the process of making decisions about cabinet hardware can be overwhelming. Take a gander at the helpful information below to ease some decisive stress.

The first thing to consider is the shape of the hardware. Are you looking for a knob or a handle?

Both of those options are functional and can be endlessly versatile in design. Metal, glass crystal, stone, and wood can all be found.

Metal tends to be seen in the more modern homes. You can match universally any scheme you have for the space while keeping it relatively clean and simple.  Wood, shell, or stone knobs are popping up in more rustic dwellings, bringing nature out in any woodland or coastal-themed space. While crystal and glass are not as popular, they are growing on people and being found more and more throughout homes, they easily bring some class to any sophisticated space.

The customizations don’t stop there!

The metal knobs and handles come in a variety of colors.

Silver can be found in most kitchens. The traditional metal colors have served us with a beautiful finish that matches nearly any appliance and color scheme in the whole home. Gold made its way back to popularity recently, and I am loving it! The rich, deep color and dimension the color can bring is enough to change the whole home to gold accents!

But it doesn’t end with just basic gold and silver. The brass, pewter, chrome, black, and copper additions will surely turn heads in your kitchen.

Things to Consider

While it may seem like a small feature, your selection can pack a punch. There are a few things that you can take into consideration within your home before making that decision.

Lighting

The lighting that your home possesses is crucial to consider when deciding on a color and finish for the cabinet hardware. You would hate to pick a gorgeous gold color to come home and find your yellow light bulbs bouncing off your new knobs with a fiery orange glow. Try bringing one home and viewing it in all the various types of light that you might see throughout the day.

Other Colors

The second thing to consider is the appliance color if you’re selecting new hardware for the kitchen and not planning on purchasing new appliances. Avoid mixing strong metals like gold and silver.

While appliances are important they aren’t the only color to consider. Is your entire house silver? Is all your furniture dark? If your home has a darker tone to the furniture consider matching the vibe with another darker color.

Go Forth and Have Fun!

Now that you have all the combinations in the world to play with, get creative, have fun, and know that they’re not too hard to swap out if you hate your decision.
