Do you have a space, wall, or ceiling that needs sprucing? Try custom millwork! The options and customizations are endless. This allows you to find unique and sure-to-fit-your-style designs and modifications. But what is custom millwork? Millwork generally refers to the trim, molding, wainscoting, coffered ceiling, fireplace mantels, and more. All those wildly diverse yet palatable designs can all be achieved with custom millwork.
Crown Molding
Let’s start with what crown molding is. Crown molding is the fancy-looking trim that is added to the top of the wall where the wall meets the ceiling. Regular molding is applied to the base trim, window door casing, etc. Reserve the crown molding for the top of the room only. While crown molding is not entirely necessary, it brings a newfound softness to the wall and adds to the smoothness of the transition between the colored wall and the white ceiling.
Wainscoting
Wainscoting can be stylish, affordable, and practical. Wainscoting is a decorative paneling used to cover half the wall or ⅔ of the wall. Wainscoting is traditionally not full-length walls, as that would be considered paneling. Wainscoting can be customized based on trim design, wall color, height of the wainscoting, etc. It can be used as an accent wall-type project or to hide design flaws or imperfections in the wall.
Coffered Ceilings
Coffered ceilings are often installed to provide the illusion of higher ceilings within the space. The indentations made by applying the trim to the ceiling in a gridlike way allow for the ceiling to appear higher and farther away from inside the room. Another added benefit to the coffered ceiling would be the ability to absorb sound and help in noise cancellation. Coffered ceilings are traditionally in living rooms, dens, and even kitchens. Do you have any rooms that need a coffered ceiling?

From pleasing, perfect shaped boxes made from trim or making slats across the wall for some geometric fun, the designs are endless. You can go as bold or as subtle as you like.
