Do you feel like you want to jazz up some of the interior attraction of your home, but you’re not sure how to do it, or you want to take some baby steps? The easiest way to add some pizzazz to your home without spending big money and without making time-consuming alterations: make little changes! Change a light fixture here… paint an accent wall there… still too much commitment? How about some cabinetry hardware! In your bathrooms, kitchen, or other cabinetry in your home, you can change the entire look of a space by simply exchanging the hardware of your cabinets or furniture!

Things to Consider

Knobs versus Pulls

For an in-depth guide on how to pick the right type of hardware for your project, check out this post from The Spruce: How to Select Cabinet Knobs and Pulls. For a high level run-down, keep reading! You’ll want to choose between knobs and pulls. Knobs will attach to the drawer or cabinet wall at one fixation point, and pulls will attach at two fixation points.

If you are revamping existing hardware, then you will be limited to whichever of these options is already in place unless you want to deal with the holes that would result from choosing a different route in your remodel. (Pro tip: Don’t change routes from what you already have in place. Stick with it, or your quick & easy remodel will turn into a much bigger project. There are so. many. options. for changing things up that you don’t need to add problems to your life! One exception: Knobs that look like pulls like this one from Wayfair!)

Function

No matter what you choose, the hardware will have to do its job without ergonomic interruption. You need your doors and drawers to open and close comfortably, but beyond that, let your creativity (and wallet!) guide your purchase!

Price

If you are looking to change out some hardware simply because you want a quick and easy change, there is no need to spend huge money on the project! Check out Wayfair, Etsy, or Build with Ferguson for basically any hardware idea that you have in mind for spicing up your space!
